Plaza de la Reina by C_L_T Valor is a chocoholics heaven...chocolate in everything!!! They even sell cups of thick chocolate, ummm!!! The cafe is situated on a main square so it's a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Paella by Redang Recipe of paella Paella is a typical dish from this area of Spain (Comunidad Valenciana), although you can find it anywhere in the country, and it's traditionally cooked in a "paellera" (a round flat pan with two handles) which is then put on the table. There are literally hundreds of ways to cook a paella and every cook has their own favourite recipe. Here’s mine, well, a friend's one rather (it will serve 6 people depending on how hungry you are): INGREDIENTS: 1-2 pieces cooked chicken breast Half a bell each of red & green peppers 1 garlic segment 1 squid 2 1/2 cups whole brown rice 1 ladle/large spoon sweet green peas 1 teaspoonful orange colouring 6-7 mussels Half glass cooking wine 2 dessert spoons tomato sauce 1 dessert spoon olive oil Salt (pinch) Handful prawns Half segmented lemon Serves: 2 People RECIPE: Heat a pan brushed with the olive oil and throw in the garlic and peppers. Cook for 3-4 mins then add chicken, mussels and squid together. Cook for 5 mins (keep stirring) then add wine, tomato sauce and leave for 2 mins. Add rice and colouring and mix well then leave for 2 mins. Add a little hot water (approx. 4 dessert spoons) then cook for 15 mins. Add peas and baby prawns then serve with lemon garnish. There are hundreds of ways, ingredients... A mouth watering sea food Paella... by MaheshSamtani La PEPICA is a restaurant that is more than a 100 years old, very distinguished and supposed to be one of the best places to eat a very typical paella. Actually ther are many types of paellas but the most popular are the paella Valenciana which is a mixture of chicken and rabbit and the Paella the mariscos - seafood paella. I would recommend both of these of better go there a little hungry. The best wine to accompany a paella really goes to the choice of each person - however a light fruity white wine would be my suggestion - ask for Marina Alta. If you like to drink some rose wine I would suggest Peñascal. The restaurant is not the typical restaurant that I would prefer but is well worth a visit. Amongst the many famous clients of the restaurant are the members of the Spanish royal family and other personalities Theme: LocalPrice: US$31-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Paseo de Neptuno, 6Phone: 963710366Directions: Go towards the malvarossa beach and the restaurant is situated in the first block of buildings just in fron of another entrance to the Port America area. All 100 of montaditos (bite-sized bocadillos) at Cien Montaditos are exactly 1,00 €, no more no less. Some of my favourites are salmon ahumado (smoked salmon) and fresh cheese, and atun ahumado (smoked tuna) and gambas (shrimps). Two montaditos is the perfect snack as every order is served with potato chips. A cana (cup of beer) is 1,00 €, a glass of wine is 1,50 €. 1) Very easy: you have to check your montadito and your drink from a sheet-list and leave it - with your name written on the top - at the counter: the waiter will shout your name when your snack is ready; 2) very delicious; 3) very cheap: you could eat a whole meal for just 5,00 €. One of these is located in Plaza de la Reina, just a few blocks away from the Cathedral.

Great location and great service...and super food. Although it was pretty full, we didn't feel the time go by while we were waiting to be fed :O) The sun was shining, you could hear the waves breaking by the shore...where else would you decide to spend a lovely afternoon, if not right here. It has a cute name "El Trompo"...and we had no clue what we ordered as the menu was solely in Spanish...But we were 100% satisfied of what we received. We didn't want anymore paella , nor fish so decided for some other dish...We ended up with pork and chicken prepared in a most delicious way with some Spanish souce....yum yum. I could not direct you to the exact location , it's on Marvelossa Beach, somewhere....But it's worth trying to find it!
...don't have a clue even now on what I had to eat :o)...I think anything would be great Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Marvelossa BeachDirections: take the metro to the end of the line (sea shore direction) and than walk on the beach til you find it...5 min walk maybe on the beach

Saturday afternoon, after a morning of sightseeing, we headed for the beach, and feeling thirsty/hungry, we decided to try this beachside bar. We sat at the front of the restaurant, in a covered area, -there was plenty of seating inside too. We ordered 8 beers, and were served huge litre tankards of draught Amstel by a very cute waiter!! Others in the bar (all locals) were consuming interesting looking cocktails! Hunger had set in, so 7 of us ordered chicken salad baguettes, the other had patatas bravas and a tortilla, plus we devoured some plump, tasty olives. The chicken baguettes were delicious!!! We were quite comfortable here, so some more beers were ordered. I'm not sure of the cost - we had a kitty,so whoever was responsible for it, settled the bill - but I guess it was quite reasonable.
Chicken baguettes- warm chicken, fresh salad, fresh crispy roll - Mmmmmm - Oooh I could just eat one now! Olives, plump and tasty! Amstel beer/lager- best of this brand that I've tasted!! view along the beach by JulesH We visited this beachfront restaurant on three occasions, twice during the week and once on Sunday. It was a wonderful beachfront location with plenty of shade to shelter from the midday heat. We found the service and quality of the food to be excellent during the week, but unfortunately on Sunday it was busy, service was unacceptably slow and poor, and the food when it finally arrived was bland and not fresh. If you go here, make sure it is during the week. The tapas are excellent and the prices are good too. €8 each for a Seafood Paella. We were told it was good to eat at Las Arenas, closer to the port, but we felt happier further up the beach
Seafood Paella, Cod croquettes, Calamares a la Romana, all cooked to perfection. Sangria refreshing and cool. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageDirections: take the bus to Malva Rosa

Me with Miguel by Maggies Horchata - the most famous drink in Valencia, is a kind of milky drink made of roots of the vegetable called "chufa" and "fartones" are sweet dough stripes. Chufa is grown in the Valencia area exclusively for Horchata. Theme: Local

Spanish tapas are world famous and most of the bigger cities in the world have Spanish restaurants offering "replicas" of tapas. Nothing like trying them at a typical place, where the variety is big, where the atmosphere is authentic and transports you back in time. Bar los Caracoles is a place that opened its doors about a 100 years ago, nothing sophisticated, its just that tapas galore. The place is small and dificult at times to get a place to sit, but surely worth the wait, if you have to. The cost is very reasonable and the food is fresh and delicious.
