hmmm! by SirRichard This tupical pastry are normally eaten with horchata, introducing them in the glass and then eating them. One of the best places to try them is DANIEL, an horchata place in Alboraya, a little town outside Valencia. But you can really have it in many cafeterias in the centre of Valencia... Leave a Comment

at the entrance by SirRichard This small place is a great restaurant for tapas or raciones. They have some tables upstairs too if you don't wanna be standing on the ground floor
The strawberry or kiwi "sorbetes" (liquid) dessert are superb. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Quart, 5Phone: 96 3910927Directions: From the Quart Towers go towards the center until nearly the Tossal Square.

Pre-inhalation by Russ by phred1910 A very local place !!! We walked in and it as packed with local Valencians... Kind of like a large malt shop in the US. Not fancy, just quick, efficient service, and a delicious drink that you can't find elsewhere. As far as I could understand, the drink is made from the nuts of a plant that is grown around Valencia...
Orchata Liquid with long straight donuts... Because it was freaking delicious. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveDirections: Close to the beach...

Horchata with fartons by SirRichard This refreshing drink is not made of milk, as it seems, but out of a small nut called "chufa". You can have it natural, iced, and mixed with different sweeteners. It is normally had with "fartons", a typical pastry. Leave a Comment

6 kinds of paella by SirRichard This place is not very famous for paella, but is a real discovery. Paella is mainly done with rice, with different ingredients (veggies, rabbit, seafish, squid ink...) but you can have it also with thisn pasta instead of rice ("fideua").
We tried 6 different kinds of paella. They don't usually do this except for groups, as paellas have to be done specially for each client, they can't be kept and re-heated. We'd spotted this venue earlier in the day, attracted by the display of paella in the window. So, this was our first night in Valencia , the city where paella was invented, the majority of our group were happy to eat here - it was near to our hotel, we were hungry, the doorman was quite helpful- he explained the different paellas on the menu, so we were pleased to be led to a table which was hastily set up for our group of 8. La Fonda specialises in seafood and Mediterranean Cuisine The Restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and the staff were helpful, friendly and polite. I'm afraid that 1 member of our party embarrassed us by her behaviour - She hadn't wanted to eat here, and behaved appallingly (as she did for the rest of the weekend) So, it did put a bit of a damper on what should have been a pleasant relaxed meal. to be continued...
Paella- we tried the seafood (lobster, prawns, clams, and arroz negre-black rice-coloured by cuttlefish ink) and a degustacion (small samples of 4 paellas). I really wanted to try at least one of the desserts (This restaurant has won awards for its desserts), but I'm afraid that I didn't get the chance. Los Bestias at HERON CITY in Kinepolis by MaheshSamtani This is one of the craziest bars or restaurants that you will experience in your life. At the entrance there is a board that says " entry prohibitted for non humorous people " So unless you are in a mood to fool around and get fooled dont go here. This is probably one of the few bars/ restaurants in the world where the waiters can do practically anything they wish so they break all rules. Anything that you would like to order has special names with double meanings and you have to call each item by its name otherwish you risk the waiter throwing it at your face. dont expect tissues to clean your hands or face, you have rolls of toilet paper hanging, you may even be asked to climb on a chair to change one of those and you better do what you ae asked to and many other such things happen in your experience to this place. The food is nothing special but is good. It is typical Spanish food, after all this is a typical Spanish anti depressive bar, its the fun part of it that makes this place different from the rest. They have 2 restaurnats in Valencia, one on Pista de Silla, just as you leave Valencia on the highway to Alicante, within the city limits and another at Kinepoli, which is out of city limits. The are many Italian restaurants in town, this one is not one of the most glamourous locales in town, but sure is great for its food, service and pricing. Situated in the area of the city of sciences and just a few meters away from the Corte Ingles at Avenida de Francia or the Aqua shopping complex, Navonna is surely a good choice. We were attended by Hector, a great host with fantastic service.
The pizza size is generous so be cautious on the food quantity. Theme: PizzaPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Paseo de Alameda 48 - Ciudad de las ciencias - 460Phone: 96 330 44 81

If you are an oriental food lover and would like to have mixture of Thai soup, with some sushi and teppanyaki together - go to Yi. Thats a middle sized comfortable and elegant restaurant. Ask for Andrea, real name Aiho - shes a great host. Mix your meal with a with a fruity white wine from the Alicante region called Marina Alta and you would probably have one of the best meals of this type that you would ever remember. Dont forget to have the home made chocolate cake for desert, once your finished with your meal and best of all get a liquor called orujo de hierbas - simply delicious. Hope you enjoy.
