A nice place for sitting and drinking, but the worst dishes we have eaten in Spain and perhaps in Europe... Paellas were done by a cooker who has no learning of his job:bad rice, stuffed and not cooked in oil fist, bad products and poorly served ...but the price only was high 28 Euros for a bad Arroz negro and 46 Euros for an arroz con crustaceros (a half minilobster,2 shrimps, 2 mussels and an"almanda", thats not busines, in spanish:"ladrones"... Valencia is a region of Spain, famous for its paella, without forgetting the other varities of rice that it has to offer. Tapelia is a restaurant specializing in a huge variety of dishes based on rice. Actually denominatied as a Alicante Rice restaurant, is a fantastic place to give your taste buds a super treat. Tapelia has 2 restaurants in Valencia, one in the city center and another at the area of the city of sciences. This is a great restaurant as far as desgin is concerned, simplistic and sphisticated at the same time. Well what really matters is the table you get at the restaurant which may make you feel at a canteen or at a designer restaurant. Reserve well in advance as this place is full all the time. I have been to both the places they have in Valencia and my personal choice would be or the one at the city of sciences. Mariano is the boss.
Try any of the variety of arroz meloso - which is rice with a little bit of its own soup

The restaurant Óscar Torrijos opened in the Valencia district of Russafa more than 20 years ago and soon became one of the most elegant addresses in the city. Since a few years ago, the restaurants is in hands of a new generation, the daughter of the former chef and her husband, chef Josep Quintana. Now, the restaurant is called simply "Torrijos" and has totally updated its style, both in the decoration of the premises and in the menu.
A great attention is paid to details in this restaurant, from a great selection of amuse-gueules, to the excellent choice of bread, waters, and, of course, wine. You can expect high quality creative and contemporary cuisine with seasonal and mostly local ingredients of first quality. The menú degustación is recommendable for a first visit. As you enter the restaurant you get the aroma of fresh homemade authentic Indian cooking. Spcies and masala blend to a perfect welcome to this chic restaurant with modern decor. The menu which is carefuly limited to selected dishes, as the food is prepared by the owner and chief cook Daxa and preferes to what she can do, but to her standards of quality and taste, which she very well achieves. The dishes are very well presented and what is more important, yummy to the last bite. Not chilly as the traditional Indian dishes would normally be as they are adapted to the local taste buds. Kismet has 2 restaurants in Valencia, one of them on the outskirts of the city in la Eliana and the other, recently opened right in the heart of the city, in one of the top leisure and entertainment area of Valencia, Plaza de Canovas, where you have a lots of restaurants, pubs and other entertainment. Excellent service. I would recommend a visit here.

Nuevo Centro shopping centre, Valencia. by Tricky_Dicky69 Sorry can't remember the exact name of this place but it was the only American style restaurant at The Nuevo Centro shopping centre, Valencia. The centre is right behind The Hotel Expo ( see seperate listing )
The food here was really tasty and good value. Chris & I had 2 bottles of house wine, mozarella fingers and jalapeno poppers to start, a pizza each for main followed by a banana split, a peach sundae and a coffee each all for 42 Euros. All standard stuff but good quality. The place can get busy at peak times but worth a visit. This restaurant chain can be found in mayor cities of Spain. Originall from Basque country, they are offering cidre in big barrels as a speciality and and a wide range of little slices of bread with croquetas, peffers, egg salat etc. on it. Each has a little wooden stick in it, and you first order a plate, then simply take the little tapas from the bar and when finished they count the number of the sticks on the plate and you pay. So don't throw them away!!! Each stick cost abound 1,10 Euros. In Valencia there was in addition a normal restaurant, too, but for me that kind of tapas was simply ideal, it was delicious!!!
