The easiest and fastest way to travel to Valencia is by air. The airport is not very far from the city centre. The bus service to the city is very good, also to go by taxi is possible. In a few years time you can go by underground to the city. Lots of low carriers like Ryanair, Easyjet, Virgin and Veuling are flying to Valencia from a variety of european cities.

We flew to Valencia with Ryanair for about £89 each including taxes and checking in 1 bag. Prices vary-You can get better prices than this when there are offers on.
Flew out Friday at 09.25 arrived Valencia at 12.55
Returned Sunday 13.20 arriving back to torrential down pour at EMA at about 14.55.
So this gave us quite a bit of time to explore, and get a taster of Valencia.
Airport to our hotel (Catalonia Excelsior in the centre) took about 10 minutes in a taxi. It is about 8km from the airport to city centre. (The cost is approx. 14 euros)
Taxi Rank is outside Departures Area.
Apparently, there is now a Metro connection - Line 5-3.

We flew to Valencia from Baden Karlsruhe on a Ryanair flight. There are quite a few budget airlines now flying to Valencia, so check it out!
The airport is very close to the city, so when approaching the city, you have spectacular views of Valencia!
The airport has a metro connection into Valencia, which makes it VERY convenient.

ok- as i've been here a while i should know better. Always ask the price first!
But, as we had just arrived back from the uk after christmas, we had 4 cases plus hand luggage, and we needed to get from valencia airport to the bus station in the cente of valencia to mosey on down denia way. i couldnt be arsed with the metro or bus, solely because we had far too much stuff, so we got a taxi from the airport. it cost us €18. THAT IS A RIP OFF. no doubt. i was too tired to argue.......
so, although the taxi drivers from Valencia airport are still complaining that the metro station should not have been allowed to open at the airport, they're ripping people off. the driver even had the cheek to tell me it was a few more euros extra because he had had to lift 4 cases into the boot instead of 2! well, i for one will never use the taxis at the airport again.
On a brighter note, if you're travelling into valencia from the airport there is no reason why you shoundn't use the metro (i know, i know-we did have loads of cases). It's cheap and quick. No idea how much the bus is these days, although i did use it last year from valencia to the airport for ony €1, so worth checking out too!!

There are 2 metro lines to get to/from the airport and the Central Railway Station (Valencia Nord). From there you can take any of the CERCANIAS commuter trains to many places along the coast.
Airport-Train Station takes 20-25 minutes and costs 1,20 euros.

Valencia has an international airport within modern standards, where you will find all kind of shops, restaurants. It is well communicated with the centre via taxis, buses and metro lines (3 and 5).
Metro takes about 25 minutes to the centre (Xativa, connections with Renfe trains) and costs 1,20 euros. Look for a red circle sign with a white M inside.

Valencia as many places in Europe, is becoming a popular city for low cost airlines.
There is a good connection with almost all important capitals of the continent such as London, Paris, Rome, Brussels, Amsterdam, Lisbon... Basically for all transoceanic flights you have to stop in one of these cities. The airport is connected quite well by road, just 15kms from city centre. Subway is just about to be started in a year or so for the America?s Cup. And by bus you have one every 15-30mins to the centre with no stops in between.

We wanted to go south for a winter weekend break, and after research decided on Valencia as flights from London were quite cheap.
We flew out of Gatwick airport and back into Heathrow airport with British Airways for only £67 return, which I thought was a bargain. Other airlines that fly from the UK to Valencia include Iberia, Easyjet, Ryanair & Thomson.
The airport is located around 8km from the city centre.
Another way to get to Valencia would be by train, It has good rail links to other Spanish cities, such as Barcelona (3 hours) and Madrid (3.5 hours)

From the Valencia Airport named Manesis, (VLC) it is very easy to get into the city. For about 15 to 25€ you can get most anywhere by taxi. Following the signs in the airport its easy to get one. By Bus, there is a "yellow" line that will take you to the bus station for 1€ (payable to the driver). It takes about 30 minutes but during traffic it can take almost an hour due to many stops and small streets. Once to the bus station you can pick up many other lines that will take you to the city. Those busses will also cost 1€ to the driver per ride.

With a brand new airplane we arrived at
'Valencia' from Brussels. It is cheap safe and
works like a low budget company.
You book the tickets from the internet and
print them yourselves. It was an airplane
with 180 seats. The first time I was able to
pick the seats myself in advance.
So on both flights we had leg space at the
emergency exits. Tickets get more expensive
when the plane get fuller. Check for promotions.
Drink are not for free , and no food served.
The terminal at Valencia
is near the city center...
