Map of L'Oceanografic by SirRichard If you go to L'Oceanografic aquarium and want to see the dolphins show (there are several each day) go at least 30 minutes before the show starts. When the place gets full they won't let you in, even if someone else has reserved you a seat in advance... Leave a Comment

An apt name for a Valencian Bar by phred1910 Be prepared to live without sleep during your stay in Valencia. The locals don't even think about eating dinner until 10 or 11PM. The bars stay open until 4AM, at which time you will see thousands of people in the streets, heading for the after hour clubs...You can party for 3 days straight on the weekend if you want to - without sleeping. Trileros by MaheshSamtani These are guys who are thieves or rouges to use soft language as their only intention is to rip you off your cash. what do they do - they put up road side stands with three potatoes and move a stone from to another and they tempt you to guess where the stone is to win some cash prize which could seem attractive - you will never win. they even have a crowd of their own people who seem to be playing and winning to get you into the trap. Other people will even try to convince you to play. they are normally a gang of between 4 to 6 people and play their pranks in crowded areas such as the city center, station area, the area of the central market, so beware and do not get tempted.

by DanielF Unbfortunately, Valencia is not the most pedestrian friendly city in Euope. It is a pity, because the narrow lanes of the old area and the fantastic weather all year round are inviting for the stroll lovers. Only some areas of the old city are pedestrianised, the rest being totally invaded by parked cars and noisy motorbikes. There are also many uncivic drivers who park their car in any place. This is an aspect of the huge Queen's square in front of the cathedral. Despite of the neighbor's claims, a large part of it is used as a parking lot. Leave a Comment

Gorrillas are people you´ll find in places like the beach parking, or at the downtown Valencia. You´ll always find them in important parking places, directing you while you are parking. They are not official people in charged of it, and if one does ask you som money for helping, well most people do give it, as there have been cases of this people breaking a side mirror or making scratches on the car, so beware of them. The old area of Valencia was affected by a major flood in 1957. In the aftermath of the catastrophe, many people left the area for more modern neighborhoods. In addition, urban speculation has also taken its toll and, despite the efforts of the local authorities in the last two decades, there are still some areas in the old city that look really decrepit and dilapidated: ruins, buildings falling apart... In sumary, an urban landscape that would rather fit in Chechnya than on the sunny Mediterranean. This does not mean that the old city should be avoided, but one has to be prepared for all kinds of sights. Anyway, be aware that some parts of the Velluters and El Carme neighborhoods may look a bit scary, as prostitution and drugs are not uncommon. Of course, taking the usual precautions, they are not particularly dangerous. Leave a Comment
