There is a famous sculpture of Christ, called "El Christo del Pardo". It is considered as one of the finest sculptures of the Spanish statuary.
Gregorio Hernandez carved it in Vallodalid, on request by Felipe III, 1605, in memory of the birth of his son Felipe [later Felipe IV].
The glass case was made in 1945 by Félix Granda.
This sculpture called "Divina Pastora" is within the Seminario Serafico de Misiones Padres Capuchinos.
It was made by Mariano Bellver [1817-1876].
Beautiful location. Many madrileños go here because it is not so hot here in summer, and the air is fresh.
Favorite Dish: This is a restaurant, even a good one I have heard, but I just took a cup of coffe and a "Tarta de Santiago".
A small restaurant in the center of El Pardo. A good place to eat after a walk along the Manzanares.
