    Nuevo Cafe Barbieri: old style

by zumodemango Written Jun 15, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This cafe is very old, with big colums and big mirrors, the "sofas" are velvet red, and chairs in old wood. I love this place!
Sometimes they have live concerts in the new part of the cafe, check there.
Fantastic teas and with the beers they serve olives. Also drinks at night.

El Valladolid Majaderitos: CHURROS AND HOT CHOCOLATE

by mesoblonda Updated Mar 30, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

After a fun night out, don't forget to eat some churros and cafe con leche or hot chocolate (also known as a liquid chocolate bar to some...)

The price is so reasonable at $2.20 Euro, you can't refuse! And once you bite in to a churro that has been dipped into your "liquid chocolate bar", you're hooked and will return!

It has a good ambiance and a little terrace, but even if you are not drinking anything, pass by and admire its beautiful tiles and the warm wooden decoration inside.

Cafe del Nuncio: Last stop . . .

by acemj Updated Mar 2, 2003

Finally, we made it to this place and most of us ordered some variety of coffee realizing that this long night was coming to an end soon. It was pretty late and we were all starting to get pretty goofy talking about the best looking male and female celebrities and other important matters like that. This place was great to just wind down and relax. They were playing laid back music and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable.

old style cafe with live Jazz Shows: Cafe Central

by SirRichard Written Jan 8, 2003

This old style cafe with wooden & mirror walls is a quiet relaxed place for a coffee break in the afternoon (open 13-2.30am) or for a jazz session at night.
During live shows the drinks are a bit more expensive, but the entrance is free.

This is a very popular and famous nightlife spot especially among expats living in Madrid. Well known is the faccade of the house made out of painted tiles. You may get postcards of the faccade's painted tiles in tourist shops.

You can go top the circulo de Bella Artes (CBA) which has a good outside terrace. You have to pay a euro to get in. The café has large windows that overlook the Alcala street.
