El Rastro Flea Market!
This open air flea market is probably the longest-standing one in Madrid, and can be found at Ribera de Curtidores and it's surrounding streets. All items sold here have real bargain prices and also antiques at stalls and auction rooms... You can visit this market on Sunday mornings!

I love the typically British style that this little alley has. Located in the very heart of the shopping area of Madrid, it shapes immediately resembles that of the London Chelsea’s mews. The alley holds some of the most exclusive shops and restaurants of Madrid... meaning that not only in style, but also in prices, the place resembles London a lot ;-)
Be sure to check out the grocery department in the Corte de Ingles, near the Puerto de Sol. The store is a huge, upscale department store, but it was the full grocery store that blew me away.
Meats, cheeses, and olives every way you can imagine. Plus wonderful breads and pastries and incredibly cheap liquor. Johnny Walker Black for $13? Good sangria for $1? All the makings for a perfect picnic!
- Budget Travel
There are lots of places to shop in Madrid. Along with the usual souvenir shops, there are a lot of clothing stores, and if you're lucky, there might be a big sale on. Also, I once found a store where they sold fans and parasols/umbrellas, and bought a painted fan for my collection. That store had all sorts of beautiful hand-painted fans and I wish I could have bought the whole store!
