    What can I say!

Since I was a child I have seen myself here lol

You can buy anything you want, and you can afford lol Just seen a nice living room that I can not afford for my new apartment lol ... (well I can not afford much if I keep on travelling hehehehe) Now serious...

Most of the Spanish cities have one.

Their Christmas decoration are very typical .. and always change thorough the years...

What to buy: This one is in Calle Goya, where you can find shops as ZARA, MANGO and one of my favourites H&M ... specially for men... for women i prefer the H&M close to the tube Nuevos Ministerios.

Anyway now is sales.... go run!!!!!

El Corte Ingles also runs other stores as Sfera, Open Cor and Hipercor

    Did I heard Sales?

If you go to any city of some size in Spain chances are you'll see the ubiquitous EL CORTE INGLES, seemingly the only department store chain in the nation. Are there any others??
Anyway, I made good use of the the lower level supermercado (supermarket) and found prices to be outrageously low for items like bread and cheese and whatnot. We enjoyed several picnic meals we packed ourselves courtesy of this well-stocked, well run market.

What to buy: Everything is available at ECI

    Department Stores: El Corte Ingles

Madrid, like most large European cities, is filled with many places to shop. From the myriad shoe stores in Chueca to El Rastro to El Corte Ingles (ECI)...there is something for everyone.

If you want to buy wonderful Spanish wine from Rioja, go to ECI. Cheap souvenirs? ECI. Expensive leather and furs? ECI. It's basically your answer to anything.

I also like the funky shops of the gay are around Plaza de Chueca. Like I mentioned before, there are lots of shoe stores (some cheap, some high end) but there are also interesting gift shops and clothing boutiques. And the people-watching is the best!

If you do not go to "El Corte Inglés", you did not go to Madrid: these department stores are situated at different places, and there you can find everything.

Si no vas a "El Corte Inglés", no vas a Madrid: estas tiendas de departamentos están en varias partes, y en ellas puedes encontrar de todo.

A country wide department store selling just about everything you could need. Stores in most Spanish cities and at least four in the Madrid area.

What to buy: Go during the sales in January, discounts on many goods from 20 to 60 %. A good time to get those designer brand clothes at big discount prices.

Make sure to shop In the department store El Corte Inglés, we loved the grocery store in the basement. We bought a lot of Tio Pepe there and Cava along with olives and water.
