Plaza de Canovas del Castillo, Madrid
Cánovas del Castillo Circus is situated on Paseo del Prado, very close to Prado Museum. The circus has a fountain with a statue of god Neptune.
La Plaza Cánovas del Castillo está situada sobre el Paseo del Prado, muy cerca del Museo del Prado. La plaza tiene una fuente con la estatua del dios Neptuno.
In the middle of this circle there is Fuente de Neptuno - the fountain with Neptune standing on the 2 horse carriage. It was designed in 1780 to decorate eastern part of the city. On the other end of Paseo del Prado there is another beautiful circle - Plaza de Cibeles.
The busy roundabout is named after a 19th century leading statesman of Spain who was assassinated n 1897. On one side of the plaza is the Museo Thyssen Bornemizsa.
