    The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum...

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in the Villahermosa Palace (built in the 1700s) was one of the most important private collections of ancient and modern painting known until June 1993, when it was acquired by the Spanish state. The paintings and sculptures of the 19th and 20th centuries are exceptional, encompassing among others Ghirlandaio, El Greco, the Dutch school painters, German expressionists and 20th-century avant-garde artists.
