Merida, CASA BENITO.....: Fantastic food.... quality and quantity!

by zumodemango

Typical restaurant with barra and tables, inside more tables and restaurant for a proper meal upstairs. We had tapas dowstairs and there is a nice and warm ambience. All wall decorated with bullfighters... typical Spanish... Cow mouth and Morcilla extremeña(blood sauce from extremadura), the first was delicious cooked and the second one is hard but it tastes fantastic. Not suitable for vetetarians!

I don't have a favorite restaurant here, but you can try in any of the Extremadura's restaurants : the best and more expensive Ham in world!! JAMON IBERICO!! the price is about 400$ for a full ham, about 5-6 Kilos. Also you can try a differents kinds of Ibericos salami, are really good!!.And other extremeña especiality is the CALDERETA EXTREMEÑA.In this picture you can see a Iberic Ham!!.

Meson El Cordero: MMMM

A samall restaurant, run by an old couple. It's very familiar. Partridge, in general is a very good dish in Extremadura. We tried here and it was excellent, little bit expensive but delicious!

A: I checked the bus link and noticed they have a contact email - perhaps best would be to drop them a note. I've had good results that way, usually get a reply.
