Each year the White Storks nest in the high spots in Trujillo and surrounding countryside. Take a walk up the hill overlooking the town to better see these magnificent birds arriving from foraging flights to feed their young. Their shear size and white plumage allow viewers even with the naked eye to observe their movements as they collect food on the plains below.
It was wonderful to also see dotted around the countryside false electricity pylons (ie no electric wires) built specifically for nesting storks.

Trujillo is a very beautiful city. If you go from Madrid to Badajoz, I suggest to stop there for a few hours, you won't regret.
