Trujillo Things to Do

  • Big Bird Watching

Each year the White Storks nest in the high spots in Trujillo and surrounding countryside. Take a walk up the hill overlooking the town to better see these magnificent birds arriving from foraging flights to feed their young. Their shear size and white plumage allow viewers even with the naked eye to observe their movements as they collect food on...

  • Sightseeing

Just stroll around in this nice place, the big plaza has a lot of impressive buildings. Some famous Spanish Conquistadores lived here, a monument shows Franzisco Pizarro...

  • Fortress from arab time

This fortress defended the town against the Christians during the re-conquest of Spain. It was finally taken by the Christians in 1232 (Fernando III).

It is more a video performance then a museum.

Unique Suggestions: Whar concerns the "wine and cheese degustation"... forget it!!
In every church you should pay entrance... that is a pity... and finally we avoided the churches...

Here is an assortment of different sweets. However I found the yemas de Pizarro not as good as the yemas in Avila de Caballeros.

  • Casa - Museo de Pizarro

By the name of this museum you might get the impression that it is the house where Francisco Pizarro was born. Of course it is not. It is not even on the same spot as he was born.Having said that, you can in this little museum find things from the time of the Conquest and a surveying description about the history of Pizarro and the conquest.
