Gold Domes.

In the Plaza de Maria Pita you will find the Palacio Municipal which is La Coruna's rather fine Town Hall. The Gold Dome's of the Palacio are really striking and its setting in a spacious square is very fitting.

South side of the Bay

Now the bay has been walked from the lighthouse to the south side and while the day was sunny it was also windy which not only kept swimmers out of the water, it caused the waves to crash on the rocks.

Shops and cafes line this end of the bay and a small park is just across the street. a school or academy was also located near the bay.

Hag

This is a traditional drink, a spirit.
But the way you "prepare" this drink it's the real show!!!
It's basically made with:
Aguardiente (spirit)
Coffee beans
Lemon slices
Sugar
You put the ingredients in a earthenware pot, make sure it's fire proof, and of course stay away from carpets (better to do it outside).
all that it's because you have to set that on fire....
While it's burning stirr with a ladle. It's custom to say the "Conxuro" or spell, to get rid of bad witches and evil eye...
"Mouchos, coruxas, sapos e bruxas.
Oubeo do can, pregon da morte, foucinho do satiro e pe do coello.
Last tip, the lesser you let it burn the stronger it is.

This place is in the north side of the city, very close to Torre de Hércules. I loved the contrast of the green grass with the dark blue sea and the white of the sculptures. I had a good time here taking photos. Though this sculptures look like prehistoric ones they're not, they were built some decades ago by Manuel Paz.

This castle which was a fortress at the end of the XVI century is now the Archeological Museum of A Coruña. It's very nice walking in this place, seems like you come back in time. While looking out of the towers, to the sea, you think that a XVII century ship will appearn at any time int he horizon.

Timetable:
Winter: from Tuesday to Saturday 10-19h
Summer: Tuesday to Saturday 10-21
Mondays closed. Sundays 10-14.30 (all year).

If you're not afraid of going up lots of steps this is your place! From the top you have a great view of the city. I thought I would not reach the top but I did. It took me some minutes to take my breath back. It's very windy up there so be careful with hats, glasses, etc.
This is the oldest monument of the city. Was built in the second century a.c., in the time of the emperor Trajano and restored in the XVIII century. It's the only roman lighthouse in the world and at present time it also works as such.

CABO FINISTERRE

If you hire a car, take your way to the west, for one hour and you'll reach Cabo Finisterre , which means 'Earth's End Cape'. You can see in the picture the great Ocean behind us.
Here is the zone called Death Coast, where "Prestige", the great oil-ship sank in November 2002.
THIS PLACE IS NO LONGER RECOMMENDED FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS.
Thanks a lot to the Spanish Goverment for allowing this kind of things!

The Tower of Hercules.
Standing at the entrance to the ria and the port of Coruña,it is the oldest fully working lighthouse in the world. It has over 1,800 years of documented history.
Visitors now enter through a new entrance at the base of the monument, which allows them to see the latest archaeological excavations which once again confirm its Roman origin.
There are 239 stairs to the top and the view of the city is incredible.

Visiting hours:October - March 10:00 - 18:00
April - Sept 10:00 - 19:00

Go to the Cathedral and visit it. Each column is different.
See the 'Botafumeiro' and the 'tiraboleiros' (the guys that 'move' the Botafumeiro).
The 'Portico de la Gloria' (Glory portico).
The 'Santo dos Croques' (can't translate that).
Every chapel. There's one dedicated especially to foreign people).
The 4 fachades.
The Puerta Santa (Sacred Door).
It's magnificence.
And much more things.
The Sacred Door is open only when the 25th of July is Sunday (that year only). And you can gain the Xubileo (religious pardon of all your mortal sins) if you confess, receive communion and pray (not sure about this).

Th Aquarium in Coruna should be on your list of things to do. It isn´t that big, but it is very nice. The aquarium below is done magnificently as in Jules Vernes story.
