There are ideal walk for anyone staying at Muros.. This path leads up and follows the ridge to San Francisco beach. There are fine views down into Louro beach. There are many other alternative walks which can be made but I Liked this one.
You can see on the top of the path a "cruceiro", small stone crosse on long slender shafts. They can be found at some random point on a highway, usually a cross roads. It is impossible to spend any time in Galicia without seeing them.
The littoral offers calm beaches with soft winds and beaches more opened with waves and wind for sails from 4.5 to 5 m2.
After traveling along the coast of Spain, we decided to spend the night in Muros at a Hostel. On awakening the next morning I strolled downstairs to see what the weather was like and opened the door to people everywhere. This quiet, peaceful little town now was filled with people that set up shop on every side street imaginable selling clothing, food, flowers, etc... Come to find out that being a Friday morning that was their Market Day. So before we left to continue our journey along the coast, we spent a few hours shopping. I bought a blue jean jacket for only 12 Euros and a few other little items. The prices were great and the people extremely friendly...
While in Muros, you must walk up through the labryinth of picturesque streets to visit Santa Maria do Campo. I don't know too much about the church other then it was built sometime in the 1400's and is a blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture. It's a must see while you are there.
Close of Muros, Carnota beach is between the 100 better in the world, according to the German magazine "Traum Strände" (after visiting 21 countries and driving more than 300,000 km of route)
Its state of conservation is exemplary. With more than 7 km in length, it is considered the longest beach in Galicia. With low tide it surpasses the 500 ms of width in some sections. The zone of salt marshes and dunes gives shelter to great variety of migratory birds.
Things to do: Cycling, Fishing, Riding, Walking, Water Sports...
Walking in Muros and by its environs is healthy, fascinating and fun.
