Ourense Things to Do

  • solopes's Profile Photo

I had no time to visit Orense - its commerce was stronger than me... if you know what I mean!

Back home, I couldn't even identify this church, where I didn't enter - is it in Orense?

A full morning lost at the hotel's door, waiting for... someone, that needed to see "only one thing" in the nearby shops!

Ourense Off The Beaten Path

A few kms. before arriving in Ourense and coming from Ponferrada and Astorga, the Sil valley is on your right. Possibility to descend and hire a boat. Take the direction of the monastery San Estevo de Ribas de Sil.

Another short trip is out to the Monastery of Santa Maria de Real de Oseira, a 12th c. cistercian building. I didn't have the time to go here, the photo is taken from the steps in front of the San Francisco cloisters.

The Sil valley with Mino river. On the other side of the lens for once...... Santa Maria la real de Oseira.
