Travel to Tuy by bus or train - only the two trains a day which go on to Portugal stop here but Guillerey station is more used nad very near.
Fortified cathedral and area around it are scenic and interesting. Bridge into Portugal worth seeing- Eiffel. Good to return to Vigo by bus to A Guardia and then bus via Baiona.

Address: Slap on the Portuguese border.
You probably want to try Santiago de Compostela - most people rave about it. Whether or not you like it take a bus out to Muros - both inland and sea views are terrific and the top two of the West facing rias are less built-up than the others.
Muros has a very pleasant harbour area and an interesting old area.

Address: From bus station
There are several vantage points in the surroundings of mount O Castro. One of them is where the monument in tribute to Rande's galleons is located, from which part of the village, the harbour, the ría of Vigo and the Morrazo coast comes into view. From the vantage point of the monument in memory of the troubadour Martín Códax -who has most excellently sung to Vigo's sea- the western part of the city -Citröen's factory, the ría's mouth, the Cíes islands and Toralla can be contemplated. Some beautiful views of the ría, the city and the harbour can also be enjoyed from the walls of O Castro fortress.

Os Cabalos (the horses sculpture)
Several horses -in a jumping position- are the main motive in this huge sculpture presiding the Plaza de España fountain. Its author, Juan José Oliveira, wanted to pay tribute to the herds of wild horses which -as early as 2,500 years and until recent decades- used to populate O Castro surroundings.

Another of Vigo's squares, this one has a mix of modern and old buildings surrounding a big fountain. Below the square is a nice church and a small alley of interesting-looking cafes.
