In addition to being a great bar, restaurant and tapas joint, this bar has a very special place in its heart for karaoke. This could be because Mimi, the daughter of bar owner Fali (Rafael) was a finalist in the Spanish talent show Operacion Triunfo in 2008. A huge picture of her still hangs in the bar, as does a promotional poster asking you to vote for her. Maybe the karaoke inspired Mimi to sing...or maybe Mimi inspired the karaoke? Who knows, but all I do know is that we had a great night. The bar is due to shut at 12.30pm, and we were fairly resigned to this fact...but at 12.15 am the tables were cleared from outside, the door to the bar closed and the karaoke machine was fired up. What followed was varying levels of carnage both alcohol induced and vocally induced!! It appears that if you are in the bar at closing time, you get to stay until the police show up...then a well placed bribe and a few beers for the officers concerned should enable the evening to continue relatively unmolested. I found a special "talent" for singing karaoke in Spanish when I had no idea of the tune!

If you have one ounce of intelligence this is not for you. Most bars are ok - when empty. As soon as the usual clientele arrive (11.30pm onwards), be prepared for the worst kind of Europop (but in Spanish) be played at ear-splitting level. However it usually cannot be heard as everyone is shouting at eachother
