As Cartgena is now becoming a stop off port for the cruise ships it brings with it the husstle and bussle of an extra 10,000 in a short time. I was lucky enough to see 3 ships here in Cartagena this past visit and I must admit it added lots of life to the city.

Do you know the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety signed on 29 January 2000 ? The Protocol seeks to protect biological diversity from the potential risks posed by living modified organisms resulting from modern biotechnology. Interesting landmark in Cartagena, isn't it ? Sure, but not in THIS Cartagena ! Actually, that was done in Cartagena de Indias, Columbia. Too bad for Cartagena of Spain !
