South by SirRichard The weather in Spain in summer depends mainly on where you go to: - South, center, east and the islands: HOT (30-40ºC) - North coast and north west: Cool and cloudy sometimes (20-30ºC). But take this as a rule, as some summers I have seen 31 sunny days in august in the north coast, but this is not the normal thing. Leave a Comment

44 centigrades in Madrid in July by SirRichard Spain in summer can be very hot. It depends on the areas, of course. The pic U see was taken in Madrid in late July, showing a temperature of 44 centigrade degrees!!! If youi go to the south (Andalucia) or to the Mediterranean coast you will find similar temperatures. But if you go up to the north coast, temperatures can go down like 10-15 degrees less than in the rest, and can even be chilly in the evenings, including rainy days too... Leave a Comment

Pack light! by Geisha_Girl If you're planning a whirlwind tour of Spain, be sure to pack LIGHT as much as possible. This holds true especially of you're taking trains and ferries. There's nothing worse than having to drag a ton of luggage around on the steps of the metro or the cobblestone streets of the Spanish towns. Note: If you're asked by a *Notorious Spaniard* to smuggle in GNC products for him......DON'T DO IT !! Your luggage will weigh a ton!!! (It was those damn protein bars, Ivan !!!)
Comfortable, walking shoes are essential.
The Spanish are generally very stylish and fashion-conscious. I was advised to bring "the flash" if you plan to hit the nightlife in Barcelona, and "dress to impress" for the nights out in Madrid. It's best to bring a good pair of casual walking shoes, and a set of dressy shoes and attire. What you lack, you can always purchase in Spain! Shopping for *party clothes* was a blast in Barcelona! If you go to Galicia, northern Spain, don’t forget the umbrella, because it may rain even in summer. If you go to Extremadura it is hot if you go on summer, so, sun glasses, sun protector and a bottle of water it will be very important. If you go to Tenerife Island or Mallorca Island you will enjoy the great weather on summer and in Tenerife spring time all the year, so, sun glasses, sun protector and all the staffs to enjoy the beach.
In all the regions of Spain don’t forget your camera, because it is a beautiful and historical country with lots of monuments and amazing landscapes. Leave a Comment

My Copy of "How to Eat in Spain" by deecat Be realistic. Lugging large pieces around is not conducive to having a good time. I took one medium-sized piece of luggage with wheels and another small bag (that I took on the plane). Make sure you have a change of clothes, your prescription drugs, toothbrush, toothpaste, cosmetics (women), and anything you could not live without. Then, if your luggage is lost, you won't be nearly as upset.
I took four slacks in four different colors (brown, black, tan, and navy), two-three sweaters, four tops, two pair of shoes plus the ones I wore. (one for dress up and one in case my shoes got wet) I take the lightest-weight underwear possible (5 ) so they will dry overnight. The same is true of socks. A bathing suit if the weather is appropriate, two hats (protection from sun), and one dress or skirt and top (for nice occasions). We washed out our clothes about every three to four days. I have a clothes line with suction cups that goes in a shower or over a bathtub that works very well.
Take your prescription drugs in their original containers. That is imperative. Some people prefer to buy their toiletries when they arrive. I take mine because I have ones I insist on using.
As of now, I do not have a digital camera.[1999] I have a camera that takes 3 different sized photos. I have had it for over 15 years and love it. It's small, so either Allan or I carry it in a pocket. I also take plenty of film with me.
We took a very small Dictionary/Phrase Book called "How to Eat Out in Spain" by Ana Vazquez published by Gremese. You can order it or find it in any big book store. It saved us! ($6.95) Includes: the basics, national dishes, regional dishes, drinks, directions Leave a Comment Other Contact: Any big book store

Dr.Firas in Madrid by dr.firas As always don't forget to pack all things you need, and your camera's equipments, but don't forget to have some Euro's as Spain is an old member of the Euro Union, and also please take with you a guide book of Madrid which is very important to know how to move, as Spanish in majority, speaks only Spanish, so they are sincer in explaining to you how to go in details, but in Spanish, so if you don't know Spanish, you're in trouble! Locks on luggage are always a good idea and this trip is no exception. I've been told by frequent travelers to put angel pins on their luggage as many people in Spain are religious. This might help you avoid luggage theft.
make sure you pack both really nice clothes to wear out (it is a civilized country, you know) and some clothes you wouldn't mind sweating in. In southern Spain, the humidity can be harsh.
Bring your own shampoo! While we're at it, bring your own pillow. If staying in a hotel, especially a budget hotel, it seems that the way they save you money is by compromising the comfort of pillows. They are almost always foam and hard as wood. Bring your own.
There will be plenty of photo opportunities here so bring lots of film, just be careful taking it in your luggage or carry on as they willbe damaged by the rays of the machines. Try to get your film developed before returning home or mail it to yourself marking it "contains photographic content" or the like.
In Southern Spain and the coasts a bathing suit is essential, you will be sorry if you don't bring it. the rest of the country is pretty dry, though some cool beachlike fabrics can be a plus anywhere in the summer.
If you're a smoker, bring your own cigarettes. Chances are they won't have your brand available there, and if they do they will taste remarkebly different. Leave a Comment

Famous Magno bath gel by asturnut Just pack the normal stuff you would on vacation. Remember to bring European power adaptors.
Depending on where you are and the season, it could really range. Even if you are going to the "hot" areas in Spain, you should bring a light sweater because it can get chilly at night. The most important thing is to take sharp looking clothes and shoes so you don't stick out like a sore thumb.
I suggest you buy your toiletries while you are in Spain. They have some very famous products that you will want to take home like Heno de Pravia and Magno bathgel.
This one is a no brainer...
You can buy anything you might have forgotten. Prices are comprable to those in the US, except for jeans. In Spain, you will pay for popular American items. Cost for tolitries, film, etc is comparable to the US. Leave a Comment

by jenniferhen I took my backpack and thats it.
HOT HOT HOT!!! Forget everything you learnt in Canada, this place is HOT! Leave the sweaters and heavy jeans at home. I typically lived in my swimsuit and just threw very light dresses over top and this was more than enough. I even wore the same thing out at night because it was not uncommon to go for a dip late at night. God do I miss this country!
Roach spray...yes they are a pesky little problem and if you are renting an apartment I would bring some or buy some otherwise you will be chasing them down with a shoe! Leave a Comment
