A suitcase or backpack is fine in Spain as most people are transferred to there resort by coach so you don't carry your luggage for very long, make sure that you mark your luggage clearly though Plenty of light clothes, shorts, t-shirts and swimwear e.g bikini! as it is hot most of the time , take light trousers and shirt to be safe, and make sure you have flipflops for the poolside as the ground can get very hot You need plenty of insect repellant and a home first aid kit is handy, this is advice i would give for any a country, make sure you have medical insurance as well

Please bring an umbrella!! When it rains in Spain, it rains! And considering you will most likely be walking where you want to go, an umbrella is essential. Also helpful is the travel size antibacterial dissolving gel, but I recommend that for any trip!! Medical supplies are pretty easy to come by in the pharmacies

The usual large duffle with wheels or a backpack will do. When shopping something cool in cotton is nice. I find cotton and lycra mix sundresses are perfect. You will be more comfortable in the heat with sandals or flipflops. I took all my favoutire toiletries and basis medical supplies with me although they are available there. I took all camera equipment with me but they are also readily available. I took a selection of bikinis and sarongs for days at the beach.

When walking around carry as little as possible , it only slows you down though a camera is a must . Wear comfortable walking shoes because most of the attractions require walking . This country is one big KODAK moment so load up on film or you might miss out on great architecture like this. Lounging on the Med. Sea is great so bring that sunscreen .

There is no rigid dress code in Spain. Like in most places, dress changes with season, venue and circumstances. Near the coast, it's not usually necessary to wear warm clothing whereas further inland, temperatures vary so be prepared. Some winters can be icy cold. FOREIGN CURRENCY:In Spain, Euros are now the official currency. It might be helpful to take some with you, although there are many places in Spain where money can be changed. Traveller's cheques and international credit cards are accepted by most hotels, restaurants and shops. PASSPORTS: A passport is needed to enter Spain although a national ID card will do if entering from Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco or Liechtenstein. ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES: You will need a european round-pinned plug, as electric appliances run on 220 volts ac. TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL: The maximum allowance per person is 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, 100...

Sun protection cream, sunglasses, a cap. Spain in the summer can get really really REALLY hot. Except for the north, and some mountainous regions, you should expect sun, and more than 30ºC/86ºF degrees everywhere (more than 40ºC/104ºF in many places). Therefore, grab your sun block, cap and sunglasses. And don't worry about your tan, you'll be brown anyway by the end of your vacation, but without risk.

One big bag you won't get too hot carrying around, and not designed to say 'HEY! I'M A LOST TOURIST!' I tend to remove all luggage labels as soon as I get my bags off the plane. A smaller bag to carry everyday stuff in, which allows you a free range of movement and is ideally positioned in front of you or under an arm, with good, noisy fasteners and NO QUICK-RELEASE STRAPS! I wore trainers for the whole trip & was fine, though I would have liked some easy-to-carry sandals for my unexpected beach trip in Valencia - swimming trunks would have gone down well there, too! Erm...not 'gone down' exactly - well, you know what I mean! For once, I am forced to say, take your own! The 'Hostals' in Spain offer nothing more than beds, walls and showers. Buy containers just small enough for how much shampoo, etc, you'll need before going, so you aren't carrying one litre of every cosmetic you might...
