Do not stop and watch the guys...

by Saints_fan

Do not stop and watch the guys on the beach fronts who set up stall on card-board boxes on which they place 3 half hand balls or 3 hollowed out potatoes with a pea or something similar the size of a pea, they shuffle the pea or similar around and then invite you to place your bet on were the pea is.the person involved will let you win the first time to get you in the game, but in the end you will lose a lot of monies. The set-up is only a ploy for pick-pockets,part of their scam even though you dont have a bet, watch for 1 minute or 2 and then walk away minus your purse or wallet.BE WARNED DO NOT STOP AND WATCH walk clear around them, watch them run when the police arrive, they fillter in the crowds as they have lookouts with mobile phones who give them the tip off.

Benidorm has a horrid...

by lenoreva

Benidorm has a horrid reputation (that proceeds it) for being an ugly tourist trap. High-rise hotels marr the landscape and the beach is crowded with incredibly sunburned people (some in banana hammocks!). However, there are good discos here, as well as shops, and movie theaters. So it's not all bad... I also had the chance to get a tour of the USS JFK, a US Navy aircraft carrier that was docked here on a goodwill tour. Great experience!

by Steve-H

The cafe's around the port area of Ibiza town will rush you in and out giving a new meaning to fast food. Here's a picture of Cala d' Hort where the food is great and the view is greater. Have you noticed a theme here? i keep bleating on about this place but it is just so lovely......see for yourselves.

Last year we took the glass bottom boat to Es Cana hippy market. By all means go to the market as it was fine , but do not take this boat. We all left the boat a bit green around the gils, and ended up getting a taxi home.

Las Ramblas in Barcelona is a...

by Nonsail

Las Ramblas in Barcelona is a market place by day with all the novelties any American tourist could want. There is also entertainment, in this case in the form of human statues. They wait until you get close enough to see if they are real, then they move just enough to startle you. Your pocket change is what they are looking for and have a container nearby waiting for you.

Cataluna encompasses...

by gabriellefox

Cataluna encompasses Barcelona, the Costa Brava, the medieval town of Girona, and the Catalan Pyrenees. Cataluna offers no end of opportunities for day trips and adventures. Here you really can have it all: explore the wonders of Gaudi in Barcelona, find the last good beaches on the northern reaches of the famous Costa Brava, and trek between mountain villages on the Romasque trail. With a trusty rental car, sturdy shoes, and a good map, you can explore for months! But shop around for good deals - some places are very overpriced.
