The perennial problem of time...

by Joe_UK

The perennial problem of time share touts is once again with us and they were seen in full effect as early as early May 2000 when i was last there. They are generally operating in the busy resorts such as St Uellalia and san Antonio. Its the same routine,we are doing a free draw,scratchcard..ohh you've won a prize,do you like champagne?ooh youve won five bottles..keep on walking and don't stop to chat or you'll be sorry!!. I had thought this sort of thing hadn't yet spread to Ibiza.

by SANDYGR

Avila - We saw so many brochures with pictures of Avila that we just had to go, when we got there we found that the old walls that we had seen pictures of were about all there was to see. Maybe it was just that we arrived during siesta, but there was nothing to do.

Avoid some of those flamenco...

by Luis_Alberto

Avoid some of those flamenco nights tours, especially in Seville. They are not really that good, and I think you can do much better on your own, or asking your concierge at your hotel, the locals know the best places. The tour operators, will pack you up really tight on these tables, and the drinks are awful.

Torremolinos -- on the Costa...

by dwinkeler

Torremolinos -- on the Costa del Sol.Stay away from this town if you want the real Spanish experience. All the signs are in English and you'll only run into tourists. The beaches are better than in large cities in the Costa del Sol. But unless all you're looking for is a tan, it's not worth the bus fare and 40 minute trip from Malaga.

by simondavies7

When in Barcelona my mates were taken for around £100 in four or five minutes while playing a 'guess which cup its under' game. There are about a dozen guys who work this scam together. Its actually quite funny to watch the way they work if you have some time on your hands.

Be careful for the gipsys. Never leaf your car open and always lock the doors of your room. Don't trust the politia. You are just a tourist and temporary.
