Flying around Spain

by Beach_dog

Flying around Spain is often cheaper than expected, the three Spanish airlines often have offers, especially if booked in advance. Often the fares can be less than the equivalent train journey and more importantly you can often arrive at your destination in a fraction of the time. I would certainly recommend checking the websites of the major airlines before planning a trip. On a few occassions I've found Malaga Madrid for as little as €32 (€64 return), the train has cost €45 (€90 return), the flight is 50 minutes but the train will take 5 hours.Three major airlines fly internal routes around Spain, Iberia, Spanair and Air Europa.www.iberia.com/iberia_es/home.jspwww.spanair.com/es/www.air-europa.com/

Taxi

by dr.firas

Taxi is the luxury kind of transportation in Lausanne, though you will find them parking, or better to say waiting and hunting for clients in front of the railstation, so if you have enough money, Taxi's is for sure the most comfortable way to move in Lausanne!

Trains

by dr.firas

Trains in Switzerland are cheaper than those in France, beacause of the 2 facts:It is a smaller country and the distances are shorter!and also because of the fact that Euro is higher in price than Swiss franks!however it is the best transportation between cities and the fastest!

Seeing Spain

by SvetlanaL

I know most travelers aren't huge fans of lengthy bus tours, but I actually enjoed this one. We started out in Seville and took a bus to Toledo and made some stops along the way. The bus was one of the most confortable I've ever been in and the guides were pretty approachable and, most of the time, worth listening to. Of course I got caught in the trap of taking too many bus tours (my mom wanted to see everything, armed and ready with camcorder), so after a while it made for an exhausting field trip rather than a vacation, but I think if you don't overload yourself, they're really quite enjoyable.

train from Madrid to Ribadavia

by oogi1

Ticket costs there 35 Euros.. and trip takes around 7,5 hours. this price means you can have sittingplace, chairs are pretty incommodius and heard BUT new:) you are happy if there are less people in the vagon so you can have more space.. during the nighttravel there nothing else to do than sleep so take something soft under head also..pillow orTrainservice is good .. they wake you up when it is your stop.. ofcourse tell them before that you need it..one thing is bad ..doors between vagns are hard to open and they close very loudly..it s a bit disturbing

metro in madrid

by oogi1

One metroticket costs 1, 15 Euro. Ticet for 10 journeys 5,35 Euro.Metro is very clean and half of trains are very modern and clean .. if you want to get out or get in in train you have to press the button what are on their doors, otherwise you just wateing and miss your stop..metroplan could also displace citymap... if you see sonme station you just look the map and you know where you are....if you want to get on the middle of Madrid go down in "Sol" station

Trains, Buses and Planes

by blint

Although the trains are good and mostly on time many of the small towns are not connected by train. You can use the local bus companies which are usually well connected from the major towns. For the bigger towns that are connected it is likely that you have to change trains somewhere. This usually entails a lengthy wait (from 1 to 4 hours is normal). Therefore you will often find the buses are quicker although the drivers are a little dangerous at times. Trains and buses usually cost about the same unless you take the Talgo that goes from Barcelona to Cadiz or Granada/Madrid (for example) or the Ave which is a high speed train from Sevilla to Madrid (3 hours). These trains are a lot more expensive, but a lot quicker. A bus to Madrid from Cádiz is 7 hours and one from Barcelona to Cádiz is a good complete day of travelling. From Granada to Madrid by train is about 6 hours which is about...
