Exchanging money
by monicarc
I don't recall seeing this in other countries (but I could be wrong), but many of the currency exchange locations only give you a "good" deal if you are changing a large amount of currency (like 2 thousand dollars). If not, like my husband & I were, you get a really sucky rate & might as well have changed your money at the airport. so, watch out for places that have separate exchange rates, based on the amount you are exchanging. This happened to us in the Sevilla train station, but we also saw it in Madrid in the Puerta del Sol (when you go up to the store front, there is like 3 large colums of the various exchange rates). Try to exchange your money in banks--don't forget, they close at 2pm!!
