Great circus! Great acrobats, dancers and clowns from all over the world. The Spanish clown Sousso was so terribly fun! I thought clowns were a thing mostly for children, but this one was really great. It isn't a permanent circus, shows take place in a big tent during two weeks in February every year until 2006. (During those weeks there are several different shows, and performances almost every night and afternoon). This year (2003) the shows take place in the evenings and afternoons between 5th and 16th of February. Most shops, the cinema and the library are located at the streets Borgmästaregatan and Ronnebygatan, which are both close to the big square (which is really unusually big, the second biggest in northern Europe after the Red Square in Moscow, some people say. Nowadays one part of it is used as parking space.) On the square there is a small market every Saturday forenoon. (hm..I miss a picture here, but will add one later) Leave a Comment Directions: The streets Ronnebygatan and Borgmästaregatan (and other streets around them) and the square Stortorget.

by nickenyfiken A good place to visit if you are interested in, or want to learn about, ships and naval history. The building is stretching out in the sea, and one can walk around it and look at different boats and ships, which are made fast there. Inside the museum I would recommend the hall with glass walls where you can watch the sea and where the old figure-heads, which are wooden statues that were previously put on the front of ships, are exhibited. That is really a beautiful view! Leave a Comment Directions: On the island Stumholmen, which is 5-10 minutes walk from the most central part of the city.Other Contact: www.marinmuseum.se

View of Stenshamn, one of the islands farthest out by nickenyfiken It is just very beautiful. I guess some more detailed description might come later on... I'll give the description of how to get there here, since there isn't space under any other title: Boats take off from the square Fisktorget on the central island Trossö (and from the small village Torhamn) during the summer (May-August). To the bigger islands in the inner part of the archipelago there are bridges and you can get there by busses or car or sometimes by boat. To Aspö a ferry takes off from the harbour Handelshamnen. by nickenyfiken Take a walk at Björkholmen and look at the cute old houses! At the beginning (some hundred years ago), Björkholmen was an island in Karlskrona where the workers from the shipyard lived in their small houses. This photo is from around the year 1900 (it may look a bit grey and boring), but nowadays many of the small houses are still left, and they're painted in different nice colours and have cute small gardens behind them. Leave a Comment Directions: The island Björkholmen, close to the most centrally situated island (Trossö). Just ask somebody for the way and walk! If you want to go by bus, it's bus No 7.

Russian Sail Ship by ratherton One weekend every summer is the annual Sail Weekend in Karlskrona. Basically a load of boats come to town and there is some other entertainments going on around the harbour. If you are into boats and things like that and in the area when it's on, check it out. The picture is from Sail 2003. It's a Russian sail ship, apparently its the biggest of it's kind in the world Leave a Comment Address: The Harbour

by Pavlik_NL In Värmland the Tiveden National Park is a highlight in the already magnificent nature. Here is a little lake that holds the only place in Europe where the pink waterlilly still grows in the wild. In July one can enjoy the beauty of the flower. Hikes through the park can bring you to wonderfull tops of hills from where breathtaking views show you the surrounding lakes and forestry. Leave a Comment

by E-v-i-t-a Karskrona is not so big city but very nice. You can take small boat and go around to look at Karlskrona from the sea, visit some islands. (realy nice man, who tells many interestings things about Karskrona and history) You can go to Marinmuseum and see for example monuments from the fronts of boats. You can also sailing, walking around, relax. Leave a Comment
