Ahlens: Famous shop chain
The third shopping center in Kungsbacka is Ahlens, with around 10-15 different shops. It’s located on the other side of the central parts of the city, seen from Kungsmässan.
Ahlens is a big chain with shops in Sweden, where you can find clothes, kitchen equipment, toys, body shops and more. Not really my favourite shop, but still good every now and then.
In the same building you’ll also find other shops, most important might be the “Systembolaget”, which is the only shop in Sweden where you can find stronger alcohol. And Kungsbacka’s “Systembolaget” is located here. Here you can find vine, beer, vodka, cider and everything else that you want to drink. At least as long as there is alcohol included…
UPDATE 2010: Åhlens is since a few years back gone, business weren't good enough. I'll still keep the tip here though, as there are Åhlens shops nearby the city, most notably in Gothenburg.
And the Systembolaget is still in place where it was when the tip was written originally.
What to buy: The alcohol at Systembolaget, maybe the clothes at Ahlens. But stay away from the music shop, you'll find the same cd:s much cheaper (3-4 euro) at other places.
What to pay: As normal.
Freeport: Famous brands to low prices
Outside the central parts of Kungsbacka you’ll find another big shopping center, Freeport. It’s an English shopping chain, with a lot of the bigger brands like Adidas, Nike, Lewis and more and more.
It's an outlet, so the prices are cheaper than in other shops, both in Kungsbacka city center and in bigger city Gothenburg.
Although the clothes are less expensive than normal for these brands I can’t really say I like this place. The clothes are still expensive, and normally I can’t find anything in any of the shops that I like.
If you want to shop in Kungsbacka, I suggest you go to Kungsmassan instead.
When I actually buy something here it's always in the golf store, which have a lot of good equipment and also offer a good service.
What to buy: Clothes mainly, since the prices of them are lower than normal.
What to pay: Less than normally for this kind of clothes.

Kungsmässan: One of the biggest shopping centres in Sweden...
Kungsmässan is one of the biggest shopping centers in Sweden, and gets bigger for almost every year with new shops. It’s located in the central parts of the town, easily reached by car from the highway, or by train (five minutes walk from the trainstation.)
Among the hundreds of shops you can find everything. Clothes for men and women, sport equipment, music, shoes, food, gambling, toys, jewelry, kitchen equipment and more and more.
If you want to take a break there are also some cafés and restaurants.
What to buy: Nothing special that you can find just in Kungsbacka, but I think you'll find most of the things you're looking for at this shopping-center.
What to pay: Definately depends on what you're looking for. Sweden is a quite expensive country.
