Visit the Andrée Museum while in Gränna! It details the S.A. Andrée Polar Expedition which went wrong. Three men took off in a hot air balloon on 11 July 1897, in an attempt to reach the North Pole. Nothing was ever heard of them, that is, until the remains of the expedition was found 30 years later.

Naar Gränna ga je voor de zuurstokken.... het beste kun je het stadje zelf in, daar heb je meer keus, de toeristenbussen gaan meestal buiten het dorpje, en dan maar naar een locatie, beetje saai!
Candysticks is the reason why people visit Gränna, you should visit the shops in town, more choice and a nicer atmosphere!

Visingsö is a little island on Lake Vättern. It's a definite must-see!! Visit the little island for its unspoiled surroundings, but be prepared to do some walking :) Alternatively, you could rent a bike, or take your car over. It is a nice place to relax! Rides on horse-drawn carriages are available on the island too.
There are 3 ferries that go between Gränna and Visingsö. Both Ebba Brahe and Christina Brahe take cars and passengers, but Madame Tingley is only a passenger boat. The boats leave at specific times so it would be wiser to pick up a time schedule at the tourist office before going to the harbour. Or call +46-390-41025 for information.
The return fare costs about 40 SKR, about 4 to 5 Euros, for an adult (as at September 2003). A car with 5 people cost 200 SKR. Check here for rates: http://www.visingso.net/visingsotrafiken/index.html
Do note that ferries do not go as often during winter time.

Very good food, nice quality, and if you sit outside you enjoy beautiful views, it is near the Vätternlake, and close by is one of the candystick shops and a nice place with antiques, Grenna Antik!
