bscott1 Says: Being in the center of town, and reputed for being one of Sweden's widest streets, Storgatan makes for a pleasant morning or evening stroll.During the summer, you may catch a parade with marching bands and people in local folk costume.
Badhotellet: An elegant old spa hotel
bscott1 Says: This hotel was built over 100 years ago and contains a number of priceless antiques and open, airy rooms. The dining room is nothing short of elegant, and better yet there's a very nice spa in the basement consisting of saunas, a plunge pool, a small swimming pool, massage...
Strand Baren: Good conversation and food
bscott1 Says: Strand Baren literally means The Beach Bar. Strand Baren has an excellent choice of dishes and a nice outdoor deck. The staff here are real friendly. Hard to say what the favorite dish is--I can honestly say almost all are good.
Pub Babar: For a rockin' fun Friday or Saturday night out
bscott1 Says: Pub Babar is usually not open during the summer. But on a spring, fall, or cold dark winter day, there's nothing like going to Babar at about 11 at night--people are loose, real friendly, and like to get a little crazy in a fun sort of way. Dress a bit trendy, but not too...

Most of the history of Tranås is fairly short, though the area has a fairly long city. There are good, friendly people here, and it's worth a visit

Was a guest of two Tranas residents in 1989. What a great town and countryside. Hospitality was outstanding. The Swedes know how to live. Great boat trip also, on an old steamer.
