A peat bog type of park with low pines and vast wetlands ideal for spotting birds and moose. At times it feels like you are way up in the Swedish highlands and you also see cloudberries growing here, otherwise a very northern delicacy. The train between Bor?s and V?rnamo cross a part of the park if you want to get an idea.

Running between the old Ohs pulp mill and the village of Bor, this tiny railway is a gem summertime. It was created as a local industrial railway and has kept the narrow gauge. Now, old steam engines take you on the 14,5 kilometre trip between the two places. If you read Swedish or German, you can read more on their official homepage below, otherwise, just click on "kontakta oss" for an update of the schedule if you plan to see it. If you want to see images and read more technical details in English, the second link gives a good idea.

More than a "pizza" shop, this restaurant is located at Smalendsgatan 1 in Varnamo with a clever decore and great personal pizzas. In 2009 the pizza's ran about 60-80 Swedish Kronor. PIzzas come with the traditional pizza salad (sort of cole slaw). While we didn't try the deserts they looked pretty tempting. They don't take credit cards so be sure to bring cash.
Favorite Dish: The pizza's have a thin crust and are usually eaten with knife and fork. They also have available a gluten-free option. The "Lucia" is a house specialty covered with shrimp.

Trains to Vaernamo are surprisingly frequent as the town lies along the Gothenburg to Kalmar "Coast to Coast" line and is also a stop along the Halmstad to Jonkoping run. If you have come on a mainline train from Copenhagen/Malmo or Stockholm, all you need to do is hop off at the railway junction of Alvesta (itself close to Vaernamo) and change to the latter trains.

Bruno Mathsson and K?llemo are only two most local of the big regional names in design and furniture. There are frequent sales when you can find armchairs and other things for a lot less than usual. Click on the pages below to see if you recognise the designs...
