This is the favourite place for the Swedish Royal family to spend their time at Solliden castle. They love to be here and it is their summer residence. The castle has a very beautiful garden and when you visit Solliden you have to have a cup of coffee café Kaffetorpet. Walk around here and enjoy all the beautiful sculpters. In Handelsboden you find products from Solliden´s garden.

A forest of trollboks (sub-specie of the beach tree) . The spiral beech (vresbok ) trees grow amongst the straight and tall beach trees and tall oaks. Walking paths and beautiful views.
On Trollskogen they say that one night the trolls had arrived here and in frenzy they twirled these trees for fun or folly. In the Scandinavian mythology the trolls were frenzied creatures featured in many sagas. Giant or more frequently goblins, grotesque and ugly, trolls lived deep in the mountains, in caves amid their treasures.

Solliden, an Italian-styled white palace, built by Queen Victoria of Sweden in 1903-06, is still used as a summer residence by the Swedish Royal Family.
Queen Victoria commissioned Solliden´s extensive gardens and parkland, which are considered by many to be the finest in Sweden.
Exhibitions on a royal theme are housed in the new pavilion, where you also will find the palace giftshop. Inside the palace gates you will find a crêperie, which serves ice-cream, tea, coffee, soft drinks as well as pancakes.

During the summer time it is very popular to have concerts in Borgholm Castle. Check with the local tourist office what concerts you may can visit during your visit in Borgholm and Öland. This is just a general tip that you can go to concerts in the castle, but I have no idea what bands or singers there will be. It changes from each year.
