A very popular Italian restaurant, with very large heated patio, on the square Larmtorget. Full until about 20:30. Extensive menu. An appetizer, 0.5 L beer, grilled chicken and coffee was, excluding, tip, 306 SEK.
Favorite Dish: The chicken was tender and tasty.

I like to eat soup with my meal, which appears to be uncommon in Scandinavia. This is the only restaurant I found that had onion soup. A small sidewalk patio for people watching. From my look in the window the inside is nicely decorated. The soup, 2 x0.5 L beers, chicken and coffee was, excluding tip, 308 SEK. Service could have been better..
Favorite Dish: The chicken breasts were tender and tasty.

We happened to meet a Dutch painter (married to a Swedish woman and living in Resmo on the Isle of öland) who invited us for coffee and dinner.....which of course was very hospitable....
It was HE who gave the address of this special and lovely place to have lunch (in Kalmar).
It is the former house of THE TWIN SISTERS who lived here for over 75 years......now it is a very special place to have a drink, tea, lunch and more.....
It is so special because everything still is as the 2 sisters left it: this means that you can walk through the rooms (there are some 6-7) and sit down on a sofa or couch, an easy chair or a dining room chair......and that is the place where you can enjoy your meal, while talking and feeling so AT HOME and while watching people......and thinking/talking about the sisters.
I shall email my friends in Resmo and ask for the address, which was on a lilttle paper that got lost somewhere during the rest of the camping holiday in Sweden...soon I will update this TIP....
Never forget to go there, it is UNIQUE, see the photo.............

I loved the chinese buffet at the train station most, but loved picknicking in the park more than anything.
Very curtious and polite staff and good fresh hot food!
Favorite Dish: Rice with beef andmushroom sauce.
