Ottenby Things to Do

If you want to get up in the light tower, I think it cost 20 Swedish crones year 2008. the light tower is 42 meters and you get a really nice view over the sea, Ottenbylund and many parts of the south of Öland. It was built in 1785 and if you want to get up in the top of the light tower you have to step all 197 stairs. Good luck, it is worth it.

Naturum will show you how birds have moved and how they live. They will tell you the story about this place and why so many birds come here. They have a house where you can see more of these things and also a shop where you can buy tourist things and books about birds. During the summers they offer all the tourists a possibility to join their guided tours around in the landscape.

They have special dishes from the region Öland and it is the only the restaurant in this area. They have some different dishes that you choose between. I read some where that they suggest people to try lufsa, a thicker pancake or something like that. Yyou can also drink beer or wine here. What can be better in a sunny day and sit there and watch the birds with a cold beer in your hand...

Favorite Dish: No favourite dish here. I just had an ice cream here, and that was a good one.

Ottenby What to Pack

Photo Equipment: Binocolors. That can be very good if you want to see the birds very close and maybe also take pictures at them. If you do this often you dont need this advise from me. I dont know either if they rent binocolours here in Ottenby.
