    Swimming

by Sjalen Written Dec 2, 2006

At Kyrkviken (Church Bay) just behind the church, there is a small public beach with a jetty which is ideal if you are in a hot car as it is just off the road. If you don't want to swim there, you can always fish. Just remember to buy a fishing license from the Älmhult tourist office. It is also possible to rent canoes and paddle around lake Möckeln from Älmhult camping site.

    Ice walking or skating

by Sjalen Updated Dec 2, 2006

Snowy winters it is often possible to walk across the lake as here in the picture, as the ice is thick enough (never before Christmas). Just take the usual precautions such as bringing both a friend and a rope and so on, and don't go if you're inexperienced. Take particular care in the many bays and were you see signs of currents were the ice might be weak at the end of them. Skating is also possible winters like this, although the ice will be quite bobbly in the bays so you need to move out a bit.

    Equipment: Rope, skates...
