Not far from the Abisko Turiststation is a display of traditional Sami architecture. Head down the path from the train station in the direction of Abisko town for about 500 meters (1/4 mile). Here, you can see typical Sami buildings with descriptions in Swedish and English. We enjoyed wandering around the site for about 10 minutes, until the mosquitos detected our presence. We forgot our mosquito repellent, so we were forced to beat a hasty retreat to the turiststation.

The mountains are just there, not exactly mountains like in Switzerland, but high enough to have still some snow left on July and nice clouds for the photographing.

Abisko Science Station
Located in Sweden's only biosphere reserve, on the shores of Lake Torne, the station welcomes summer visitors amongst those of you interested to learn more about climate change.
