Maps

Miscellaneous:
If you are planning a trip to this region it is good to have your map before you travel here. A good website to buy your detailed maps of Sweden and the Fjällen area is:http://www.lantmateriet.se/

I bought all my maps here. Not only for the Fjällen, but also for other regions and trips in Sweden. The map I used for this region is map BD6 Abisko-Kebnekaise and costs 99,50 SEK (excl. shipping). The scale is 1:100.000

You can get an overview of all the "Fjäll" maps they sell here: Maps of the Swedish Fjällen

To make it more easy for myself I copied and laminated parts of the map at home. Because they are laminated, it makes them less vulnerable for rain/bad weather. For each 2 / 3 days hike I made one laminated map. This is a smaller area, so I no need to fold out the original map (clumsy in rain and windy conditions). All fits on 1 A4 laminated sheet --> very handy :-)
