Take the bus from Kiruna to Nikkaluokta

    Kiruna bus station

From Kiruna to Nikkaluokta it is 60 kilometers. The bus fare is 62 SEK. It will get you there in less then one hour.
When you come to Kiruna, by air or by train, you can leave your luggage unguarded inside this station.
If you ask nicely, the bus station staff will let your luggage stand there for some hours while you are waiting.
Use the stair to the packet/post room, just behind the rucksacks on the picture.
The staff of course will not garantee anything from being stolen, but people here are thrustworthy, so don´t worry. (But of course, to make sure that you will not get a bad impression, bring your passport, your camera and your money with you).
    -
Why don´t you meanwhile go and see the famous church, just 5 minutes away.

    The Boat Captain

To spare your legs when trekking from Nikkaluokta to Kebnekaijse Alpine Station, you can take a boat on the lake Ladtjojaure and a bit upstreams the river. You can rest some 20-30 minutes while going upstreams and you will go approx 5 km with the boat.
The downstream boat landing is at the Ladtjojaure Kaffekatan ('Coffee hut') (See tip)

    Night Train

by AnnikaW Written Sep 21, 2002 160 reviews

From Stockholm to Kiruna there are night trains. It takes 19 hours, so of course it's great to be able to sleep during this time.
Beware that Swedish trains are often delayed during winter (it's not so bad up north, but worse in Stockholm where we are not used to so much snow).

There is an airport in Kiruna providing direct flights to Stockholm. This is the best way to come here, unless you want to drive all the way up from Southern Sweden.
You will need a car in order to go to the National Parksm because there are not public transports.

There is airport here and train & buses as well, but as I was on a road trip I used my car, best option of course as you can stop in all those of the beaten paths on the way.
