The "wooden village" of Wadköping is set right in the middle of Örebro town. Wooden houses surroung the cobblestone streets and squares, and the atmosphere is really nice. The buildings date back some 300 years, and many are the traditional Swedish red colour.
There are little shops, handicraft shops, cafés and quite a few museums here, for example Cajsa Wargs hus and the Hjalmar Bergman museum.
Especially in the summer months there are lots of activities for visitors going on in Wadköping, check with the tourist office!

The castle in Oerebro is about 800 years old. You can't miss it, because it is siutated in the very heart of the city with a small river floating around it on each side. the tourist office is located inside and the restaurant upstairs is very special. Listening to music inside the castle is not too bad!!!

Built in 1958, Örebro’s famous Water Tower 'Svampen' ('the mushroom') has become a tourist attraction. From the top, over 50 metres above ground level, there is a fantastic view of Örebro. There is a restaurant, a café and a Tourist Information Office.

Wadköping is the oldest part of Örebro which is a little town completely built in timber and located by the Svartå river. Time stands still here and there are a variety of little shops and crafts on exhibition. During the summer period open air theatre is performed.

The Orebro Svampen (= Mushroom) is an enormous watertower. From it's top you can enjoy a dazzling overview of Orebro-town and land. Lakes everywhere surrounding the town and on a clear day the sight can be over a 100 kilometres! In the watertower the technical side of the Svampen is explained. The construction is magnificent, as it has to hold enormous amounts of water.

Have a visit to Örebro castle. It was originally built as a fortress in the 13th century. Today the museum, the tourist office, a conference centre and a restaurant are all located in this building, on the banks of the river Svartån.
