Medevi Brunn is a short drive outside the town of Motala.
Once a health resort/spa, Medevi well has a history that dates back to the 1600:s. The water in Medevi weil is slightly radioactive. In the park surrounding the well, you have the biggest alder tree in Östergötland.
Both of our two Swedish princesses had their religious confirmation ceremony take place here in Medevi.
You can have a taste of the water and a stroll around the rural setting of the place, complete with old style shops and a pharmacy.
If you come in Midsummer, there is a huge celebration going on here.

Another view from the Motala Ström (Stream). Trees seemingly growing right in the water. Probably the water was high, and this is normally a small island. Anyhow, youi can see it if walking along the stream in Motala.

The flight of locks at Borensberg connect the channel Göta Kanal with lake Vättern. In summer the little boats and the bigger ones crowd here on their way through the channel.
The surroundings are really beautiful as well, with vast views over the lake. However in winter there isn't as much to see as in summer.

The most elaborate of the Swedish rune stones as well as the most mysterious. The Rök stone is situated in Rök village, south of Motala.
