    Packing List

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: Depends on the type of holiday.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: A snug sweater for summer evenings when it's still light and sunny but can be a bit cooler than further south.

In winter you need warm shoes that can still deal with the wet thaw and ones you don't mind getting salt rims on for a while.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Mosquito repellant if you stay in small towns or the countryside in summer and especially when visiting Dalarna or the highlands but also other areas near lakes and streams...

Photo Equipment: You will find any photo equipment in decent sized Swedish towns.

Miscellaneous: Eye mask if you have trouble sleeping in light at all. Summer nights can be very light if you don't have dark curtains where you stay.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Because weather can change quite fast in the summer, be sure to take with you both some lighter clothes + some thicker sweaters.

Miscellaneous: If you're planning to drink a lot of booze, buy a load before coming here cause the prices here are really high. Everyone are complaining about it, especially foreigners.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring some warm clothes with you 'cause even if the weather sometimes happens to be quite warm in the daytime, the temperatures drops dramatically at night. And don't forget the usual waterproof jacket either, of course.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Mosquito repelent is of the utmost importance in the summertime if you plan on travelling up north.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Good sleeping bag, of course.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: warm jackets for wind, rain and snow, good trekking shoes if you want to walk.

Photo Equipment: You get them everywhere.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: In Sweden you can wildcamping whereever you want, as long as you respect the nature and leave things like you found them. Be careful on the parking places of the motorway...i would not recommend there. People had been robbed out from organized bands...doesn't have to happen...but you never know.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: It really depends on when and where you are going.
The summerdays (june-aug) can be very hot and dry and the nights can be chilly.
The north of Sweden is generally cooler than the south.
There can be a lot of mosqitos in the north!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: You can buy any kind medical supplies on the 'Apotek'.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: In Sweden we have something called 'allemansrätten' and it means that you are (for example) allowed to camp if the land isn´t private (then you have to ask for promision from the landowner). But you must follow the rules: You are not allowed to throw garbage in the nature, disturbe, destroy or act carelessly in any way.

    Electrical Outlet Sockets

Miscellaneous: The photo shows a standard electrical socket in Sweden. If you don't have a plug thats this type and shape then your favourite power items are not going to work.
