Göteborg is well know for the unlimited amount of Café in and out of town. My absolutely favourite one is the KRONHUSCAFE.The athomosphere is .......great. Feels you go back in time. The café has a nice open fire place and on sunday afternoon there is someone playing piano in it.You will love it and if you need a guide, just tell me.I WILL HAPPELY BRING YOU THERE FOR A PIECE OF THAT MARVELLOUS CHOCOLATE TRUFFES WITH RASPBERRY SAUCE.MMMMMMMMMMHHHHHHHHH There you can get all sort of swedish patisserie and cakes and sandwhiches and quiches, coffee and tea.In the summer you can sit outside in the middle of KRONHUS a nice old place, where you can find OLD GRAND-MA stores, which sell traditional swedish manifacture as Glass, silver, and hand-craft

by aasakatarina

No favourite restaurant, really. It depends on your mood, the occasion, the company etc. Sweden has all kinds of restaurants and all kinds of food and many friends from 'abroad' have been very pleased with the food.Swedish husmanskost is plain, gives you a lot of energy and is rather cheap. My tips to all who plan to go to Sweden is to try Swedish food, or 'husmanskost' as we call it.

Chris_Dahlia's Restaurant Tip

by Chris_Dahlia

Dining OutEating out in the evening is generally more expensive, although not necessarily prohibitive, so check prices before you venture into a restaurant. The price of wine in restaurants is high, so you may prefer to stick to mineral water. (Ramlösa is the best known local brand.) The budget-conscious will find plety of cafés and cafeterias in the larger cities, as well as fastfood outlets such as McDonald's. For something more typically Swedish, try the korvkiosk, the nearest equivalent to Britain's 'chippy'; it spcialises in fast-food items like grilled chicken, hot dogs or sausage with french fries.

by richiecdisc

Didn't eat out much as I was staying with a friend and got to try all the traditional Swedish foods. Hard bread with cheese, herring, Kalles caviar paste , great yoghurt, homemade fish soup, and a surprising array of Swedish beers like Carnegie Baltic Porter. Oh, and the coffee is excellent too!

Stockholm has a restaurant...

by ClassVGuide

Stockholm has a restaurant culture which may be hard to beat. The choices are endless so the only thing that will truly determine is how much you are willing to spend because even the cheapest meals are expensive by US standards. If you like beer then I'd recommend Soldaten Svéjk. It's a Czech restaurant with heavy meals and probably the best selection of quality (Czech) beer in town. the price is reasonable when one considers the size of the portions.

by ballabali

Djingis Kahn (Mongolian Barbecue) Nice staff, always friendly.Make shore to make a resevation if you want to eat there on weekends since it´s very popular. For less than 150 SEK you first get a very nice soup and some fresh bread and after that you can choose from many different dishes (vegetables, different kinds of meat, seafood, fruits and desserts). You watch as the chief cook your food. You can eat as much food and desserts you like!!

Longhorn Steakhouse in...

by Lainey

Longhorn Steakhouse in Slussen. (Stockholm)Although the restaurant is tiny, and there might be a wait, especially in winter when too cold to eat outside, the food and service are well worth the wait. After only two visits to that place, the staff knew me and my preferences, right down to my drink order. Who could expect things like this in a major city? They have the most wonderful chili there. All beef. And their steaks are prepared over a open pit.

Arne's Sjöbod, Bönhamn: Arne's Sjöbod, Bönhamn

by SwedishChef

After having cooked onboard a sailboat for the better part of a week, a break ashore, yet close to the brine. For starters, there can be only one possible choice from the menu:Gravad Lax på tunnbröd</B?It's the true taste of the area (at least for those unfortunate enough not to appreciate the aromas and tastes associated with surströmming)
