Educated Swedes and/or locals know Ängelholm as "Clay pigeon town" (Lergökasta'n) and this is because the town once had more potterers than anywhere in this clay rich region. The ocarinas were therefore created as that little extra to bring from town on market days and often given to children. Today, there is an ocarina orchestra in town which sometimes performs and it is the typical souvenir in town. You also see these yellow birds on trees and signs around town, indicating walking- or biking paths.
