Start off through the nature reserve behind the farm restaurant and you will soon find yourself down by the sea with interesting rock formations and a trail along some woods to the beach and harbour. A lovely walk!

Tjörnedala is the farm where Östelen Art Society have its exhibitions so you will find artists and people who like to know them here but also biking parties and food lovers. Also people from the hostel across the road. The restaurant is in a listed old farm and with great antique interior. On the menu you will find wild boar, lamb and similar local food. Expensive - yes, but still affordable. There is also a great nature trail down to the sea for when you've eaten too much. Rumour has it that the current restaurateurs want to move into Simrishamn but whoever takes over should be equally good as this is a well known establishment.

The Simrishamn to Kristianstad buses do stop at Baskemölla but on Saturdays there are only a handful departures a day so make sure you check the timetable. Driving is unfortunately a lot more flexible, especially as there are no services in the village such as shop or cashpoint. Don't try this old fire engine in the harbour though! :) Since it is only 6 kilometres north of Simrishamn, you can easily cycle here too and there is a straight cycle path with nice views!
