The tiny village of Kattvik north of Båstad is mainly known for being where Richard Gere had a fling with a local some years ago with paparazzi in every bush. Today, the main attraction is the little kiosk and cafe above the harbour. Not the cheapest of cafes but then it comes with a view over the Laholm Bay and with great Swedish waffles with jam and cream.
Favorite Dish: Waffles with cloudberry jam.
Plenty of places offer the traditional Swedish Christmas Smörgåsbord but this is a bit special cus it's the only one where my family got together a few weeks before christmas itself.
If you want the big show you go to Hasses Lada further out on the peninsula but if you want to be able to sit down in a more quiet environment then this is a good alternative. There's accomodation possibilities as well if you enjoy all those "snaps" a bit too much!
The price this year is SEK 395 for the dinner itself, might sound steep to some but remember it's a buffet!!
Favorite Dish: Where should I start?? I'm a fish lover so I would say all the versions of salmon, some of the herrings.....
