13. Krankesj?n-Romelestugan 14 km
Skaneleden continues along the disused railway line through the southern end of Krankesj?n in Revinge army training ground. Revinge first served the military in 1811 and is still used today.
Two farms in the training grounds raise livestock in order to help preserve the landscape's natural character. During the summer months, grazing cattle number close to 2,000. Together, the farms have access to almost half the total area, and animals are kept outside all year round. A quarter of the training ground is forested with pine trees the dominating species. These forested areas are split up into small groves spread throughout the grounds. The remaining area is dominated by sandy moorland interspaced with wide flat, undulating fields.
In the pretty village of Torna H?llestad there is a post office, public telephone and a grocery store. A small, winding footpath connects the village to Skaneleden. Read more about in stage 14.
Stage 13 is the most easterly section of the footpath, and south of Torna H?llestad it crosses an impressive ridge and cuts through open pastures where you may see juniper bushes in bloom. Immediately south of the southern connection to the Skrylleslingan footpath is an old water-filled quarry. Do not go too close to the edge!
North of Bj?rnstorp village, the trail passes through beautiful pastures forested with junipers. At S?dra Ugglarp you can see one of Scania's largest ancient burial mounds in the shape of a stone longship. At Romelestugan campsite you will find, in addition to the beautifully located night shelter, both a youth hostel and a restaurant. The views from Romelestugan are spectacular.

Genarp, SE-247 98, Sweden
Good for: Business
Genarp 20 km from Malmoe, Sweden, you will find 3 castles to visit and the highest point of southern scania. You vill also find the trakkingtrail, skaneleden passing right beside Genarp. The north to south trail. See the map.
Fondest memory: We live here, just around the corner of one of the three nearby castles, Bj?rnstorps castle.
We live at the start of the great romele?sen, where the farmersland meet the forest.
The wildlife here is mostly deer and rabbits but the fauna invites many other swedish animals.
You must visit Romele-stugan at the top of romele?sen. Have a cup of java and relax. From here you can see Lund, the university town of southern Sweden.
