    Falmans 1914: Great Pastries

by easterntrekker Written Jan 9, 2014

    Falmans 1914
By now we re hungry and start to scout out a place for lunch usual we read the menus and see which places look popular. We see the corner cafe and decide to give it a try ....Lots of beautiful breads , rolls and pastries. we pick a couple of sandwiches and some teas. I had one with shrimp ..with way too much mayo. It didn't sit well ...wouldn't go back except for a pastry.

i went to helsingborg with a group of friends from vt and we decided to have dinner at teaterkatten.
that was one of the best choices we made that day.
the food was excellent and the service was fantastic.

teaterkatten is located by the theater in helsingborg and has outdoor seating when the weather is right.

Favorite Dish: i had a steak there and the meat was fantstic and it was done exactly the way i like it.
not too much food and not too little.
all in all, just my kinda place :O)

my meal at teaterkatten there is outdoor seating at teaterkatten.

    TeaterKatten: Good Seafood and Steak

    by OH_DK Updated Apr 4, 2011

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

After seeing Hamlet's Castle in Helsingør we were delayed a few hours for our lunch.
We were a group of 15 VT'ers who arrived to Helsingborg around 3PM very hungry.
The weather was great - nice and warm and sunshine - so it was a bit crowded at the small restaurants at the harbour. We then walked a few hundred meters into town and found "Teaterkatten" (Theatre cat) right beside the Theatre. They had tables outside so we desided to sit there in the nice sunshine. It was March 31st and first time I were eating outside this year.

Favorite Dish: I had seafood with pasta, and a large beer and it tasted very good.
Most of us got the food at the same time, and we had perfect service from the waitress.
I think we were all satisfied with the food but the best thing was the beautiful weather and great company.

    Teaterkatten: Serendipity

by johngayton Written Apr 17, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Off to Sweden for the evening after a day out in Helsingor we had intended to have dinner at a restaurant that Raz had in mind but given that the sun was shining and several of us hadn't yet eaten that day we decided to grab a bite at one of the marina restaurants. It seemed however that the whole population of the town (s) had also had the same idea and so we found this place just off the marina, next to the theatre, with an outside terrace. Serendipidity indeed: excellent food, excellent service, excellent company, even the beer was good and not TOO expensive - definitely a 19 out of 20 (and that is praise indeed from me!)

Favorite Dish: Everyone's food looked great, Claus's steak, Allan's seafoood pasta (HA!), and my "Fisk Symfoni", comprising Salmon, Tuna, Sole(?) and Scallop with its two sauces and vegetable accompaniement was absolutely spot-on, perfectly cooked, great flavours and at 205 Krone was well worth the money - and the sun shone, the beer flowed, the conversation meandered and the waitress was sexy - what more can a man ask for?

    Wallåkra: Vallåkra

by Sjalen Updated Jul 24, 2006

A very well-known Scanian restaurant run by Vallåkra stoneware factory, this is in a lovely setting outside the village of Vallåkra. How about eating somewhere with a stream running beneath your floor - in fact, you can see it in a corner where the floor is made of glass. You can of course also sit outside in good weather and hear it. Then walk off those calories in the nearby nature reserve along the stream. It is only open until late afternoon daily, so ideal for lunch, but also has some barbecue evenings in summer and will welcome big parties any time you book.

Where to eat and drink before the game

by Calcio Written Dec 18, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Helsingborg-supporters don't have a special place where they meet before the games. Although I know there is a restaurant/pub quite close outside the stadium, where many supporters take a beer before the home-games.

Otherwise it's always a good idea to take the ferry to Denmark from Helsingborg. It just takes 40 minutes to to there, and the beer is cheap. Not really sure what a ticket cost, but something in my head says 75 swedish kronor, which means around 8 euro.
Helsingör is also a very nice small city, where you'll find nice restaurants.

You could also eat onboard the ferry, where there is a small restaurant. Don't be too scared for the red sausages. It's a danish speciality and is called "pölse". I can't say I really like it, but most people think they are good.
