Favorite thing: Every year they have a Christmas market in Torshälla and it is very nice to attend. Here you buy different things which handycraftmen in the local neighbourhood have done, then I mean probably in the region around Torshälla. From each year there are different things to buy, so it is not the same things every year.

Favorite thing: Somestimes when we walk in the city and forget to do things we usually get in a hurry to the toilette. When you feel that it will happen to you, you can go own to this toilette in Eskilstuna, but beware of that you have to pay to get in there.
Fondest memory: I have no memories yet.....

Favorite thing: In the end of May the neighbourhood Nyfors (behind the Central station) has a market outside between 10.00-15.00. You can rent a table to sell your own things or just walk around and try to find some good deals. You can also try many foreign dishes during this day from other parts of the world.

Favorite thing: In begining of September a market is hold in Torshälla and they sell all kind of things and it is also a tivoli here for the kids. One reason this is popular is that they only allowed people who work with handycraft. They have good demands on the handycraft salesmen.

Favorite thing: Årby is a neighbourhood directly to Årbyrondellen, and you will see it if you come this way by car. Many of the inhabitants here are immigrants and they live and work in Esklstuna, and it has become a place for students too.
Fondest memory: When I was in the last years of elementary school and we went here to discos. usually we sneaked in through the windows. We did not want to pay the entrance. Many memories from this time.

Favorite thing: This loppis what we call in Swedish is a market where inhabitants from this city rent atable and sell their own old things what they dont need at home. It is just fun to walk around and check all tables with different things. If you want to buy for your kids och to the summer house, it is a perfect market for you. This take place in Sméhallen and it is organised by the local ishockey club. You can eat hamburgers, kokt korv and also have a cup of coffee.
Fondest memory: The fondest memory of this local loppis is that there are so many people here and so much garbage to buy.

Favorite thing: Well, in Eskilstuna we have a zoo with many exclusive animals for example the white tiger. There are many more things to do at the zoo, and a place where children like to go. Some times during the summer there are concerts with famous Swedish and foreign artists. You also have a smaller tivoli here and when it is too hot, you go to parkenbadet and swim in the big swimming pool.
Fondest memory: When I was young and we went here and drank during the summer nights. I also went here during the day time to to watch the animals and swim in Parkenbadet.

Favorite thing: Now during this year and and the last years it has happend alot in my city. Many buildings are growing up here and there, and they take a way bad ones to get space for new once. this is behind the city hall, and I dont really now what they will build there in the future. Probably apartments.

Favorite thing: It is very beautiful along the river of Eskilstuna, also called in Swedish Eskilstunaån. Here you can feed the ducks in the river during the winter. Walk around and sit down and read your newspaper. bring a blanket and have a picnic with your girl friend/boy friend or all your friends. You can just bring a book and sit here and read.
Fondest memory: I like when it is so quiet along the riverand watch the ducks and just relax.

Favorite thing: This Christian priest came to Eskilstuna area long time ago. He wanted to make the wild vikings Christians and tell them to change their reigion. Eskil was stoned when he talked to the vikings who had come to Strängnäs to celebrate Oden. It was a viking called Blot-Sven who was the man behind the execution of Eskil. On the pictures below you can find a statue after eskil and you find it at Klostergatan, on the other side of the road compare to Slottskolan.
