You could well find yourself in Nyköping just because you travel Ryanair! Not that you will see much of town unless you decide to go specifically to Nyköping - bus 715 towards Oxelösund until late afternoons, otherwise taxi :-( since the Ryanair buses themselves all go directly to Stockholm...
Ryanair fly here from London Stanstead which they have done for some years now but recently decided to make Nyköping their Scandinavian hub and started flights to Paris, Glasgow, Frankfurt Hahn, Turku, Århus and Oslo. There are also flights from here to and from Gotland but otherwise mainly freight. All this Ryanair expansion has made Nyköping Council see dollar signs in front of their eyes and the whole region expect an upswing with housing, tourism etc. which earlier in the year made the council rush through a decision to PAY Ryanair to put www.nykoping.se on all their planes, much to the annoyance of people living "in the real world", i.e. teachers, nurses and others with little council money.
If you dont want to take a taxi to Nyköping you can take the local bus that runns from 04.00 to 00.00 every day. Take bus 515 or 715 to Nyköping.
From Skavsta airport to Nyköping center is abot 8 kilometers away and it costs about 175 kr (about 17 Euro). The trip takes about 10 minutes with Taxi.
A good way to get to Nyköping is by airplane since the airport is only 8 kilometers away from Nyköping center.
