    Internet cafes

by HORSCHECK Updated Jan 16, 2005

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Stockholm has many internet cafes with different price levels. I can recommend "Sidewalk Express", because they are located at various places in the town and they are relatively cheap. You purchase a credit number at a machine. Then you can log on at any PC as often as you like until the credit is exceeded.
In 2004 "Sidewalk Express" charged 19 SEK per hour at its 4 locations in the city centre (Central Station, City Terminalen, Drottninggatan 33, Sergelsgatan 8-12) and 29 SEK per hour at Arlanda Airport.

  • Public Toilets

by fsol Written Jul 10, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: There aren't many accessible public toilets in the city/tourist areas. And none of them are free! Most come with a charge of 5-10 KR which in my opinion is daylight robbery. If you have a small bladder, one way to get around this problem is to buy the Stockholm card. It allows free admission to museums and of course, the free toilets within the museums. Altenatively, you could just limit yourself to drinking just one glass of water a day (definitely no tea, coffee or alcohol).

    The Stockholm Card

by spidermiss Updated May 21, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: It is worth investing in The Stockholm Card if you spending a few days in the city. As well as making significant savings they are convenient to use. The card gives you free admission to 80 museums and attractions including the Historical Canal Boat Sighting Tour. You can get discounts for other attractions and the card includes using public tranport. They are convenient to use as well as saving money for many attractions.

You can find out more information about The Stockholm Card on the website and you can able to purchase on in advance (I got mine at the airport when I arrived).

You can purchase 1, 2, 3 or 5 day cards. I purchased a 3 day card and it costs 650 SEK (May 2011)

  • Cheap Lunch

by CoweyB Written May 27, 2012

Favorite thing: Food is expensive in Stockholm - a main course seems to cost around 180 SEK onwards but a cheap lunch is one of the many types of hot dogs you can buy about a tenth of the price. The corner shop Pressbyrån which seems to be everywhere all seem to sell hot dogs with a choice of types. I recommend the cheese one (ost). Absolutely delicious.

If you want something more substantial I recommend Jerusalem Kebab shop on Gamla Stan quite near the Gamla Stan T station. Three skewers of chicken shish with rice and a big mixed salad are delicious and good value at 70 SEK. You can eat in the shop or if the weather is good they will bring your food out to you in the little square nearby.
